2026.09.1406:30:00UTC+00Swiss August PPI Rebounds to 0.7% MoM, Snapping July Decline

Switzerland’s Producer Price Index (PPI) moved back into positive territory in August 2026, rising 0.7% month-over-month after a 0.1% decline in July. The latest figures, updated on 14 September 2026, point to a notable shift in producer-level price dynamics following a brief period of contraction.

The July reading had shown a 0.1% month-on-month drop compared with June, but August’s 0.7% increase indicates a clear rebound in prices charged by Swiss producers. On a month-over-month basis, the “actual” August figure is measured against July, while the “previous” July figure reflects the change from June, underscoring the turnaround from mild producer price weakness to renewed price growth.

The move higher in August’s PPI may signal building cost pressures at the production stage, which investors and policymakers will watch closely for potential pass-through to consumer prices and implications for Switzerland’s broader inflation outlook.
